Every year, each grade level sponsors a breakfast for the entire staff upon returning to school. The Teacher Appreciation committee is putting together a fabulous breakfast this month sponsored by Pre-K, Kinder and 1st grade. We are reaching out to our wonderful community for monetary donations for support. Please show your teachers and staff some much deserved love. No amount is too small. Poe Reading Mentors Program
The Poe PTO Reading Mentors Program needs mentors for the ‘23-‘24 school year!
The goal of the Reading Mentors Program is to engage students in the joy of reading! We are looking for enthusiastic adult volunteers who love reading, books and kids! Mentors will be matched with a 1st-3rd grade student to read with once per week this school year mid-October through May.
Time commitment: 20-30 minutes per week during school hours You will be able to select the day and time that works for you!

An orientation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 8am in the Poe Cafeteria.

The Poe Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) helps support our school through volunteering and also helps provide additional funds to continue programs, sponsor events, and purchase items by supplementing the funding from TEA and HISD. As part of the Poe community, EVERYONE - including parents, teachers and administrators - is automatically a member of the Poe PTO, and we welcome you to be part of the effort to provide Poe students with a strong foundation for learning and success.
