5th Grade festivities

• Friday, May 29, 2026: 5th Grade Glow in the Dark School Dance from 5:30 - 7:30PM (Students only.  Food and drinks provided.)
• Monday, June 1, 2026: In-school field trip, 10AM - 12PM (Gaming truck, inflatables, field games, and more): Playground/Field.
  • Water bottle and sunscreen are encouraged.
  • Please note that Chick-fil-A lunch will be provided (gluten-free and vegetarian options available).
• Tuesday, June 2, 2026: Movie day & yearbook signing: Cafeteria.
  • If you did not purchase a yearbook, students can make a small autograph book at home out of paper and bring that in! 
  • Please note that pizza lunch will be provided (gluten-free option will be available).
• Tuesday, June 2, 2026: Graduation ceremony at Lanier Middle School (2600 Woodhead St) beginning promptly at 6:00PM.
  • Please note that students need to arrive by 5:00PM. Doors will open to guests at 5:30PM
  • A maximum of four (4) guests per student is allowed.

• Wednesday, June 3, 2026: Foam Party Day & Kona Ice, 10AM - 12PM: Playground/Field.
  • Please note: One piece bathing suits for girls; boys AND girls must wear shorts and shirts over bathing suits.  Students will need to bring towels, plus change of clothes. 
  • Water bottle and sunscreen are encouraged.
  • Please note that Raising Cane's lunch will be provided (gluten-free and vegetarian options available).
• Thursday, June 4, 2026: Last day of school.
  • Annual Poe 5th Grade students vs. teachers kickball game at 8:30AM.
  • Water bottle and sunscreen are encouraged.
  • Class parties (1:30PM).
  • 5th Grade students clap out at dismissal (2:30PM). Parents can gather on the front lawn and sidewalk as 5th graders emerge.  Feel free to bring balloons, confetti cannons, noise makers, and plenty of school spirit as we send off our amazing fifth graders.

5TH Grade Activities Fee:  Each year the 5th Grade Representatives work with the teachers and staff to plan for the 5th Grade end of year events. This includes creating a theme for the year, designing class t-shirts (see our winning design by Sofia Carter!), helping with field trips, assisting with the 5th grade promotion ceremony, and organizing last day of school activities. To cover the costs of these activities, each 5th grade family is expected to pay a $100 fee.
