Test Prep Still Needed (STAAR)
Good Evening Ms. Wren's Class Families!
As a reminder, 3rd grade will be taking their STAAR Tests on Tuesday, April 15th (ELAR) and Tuesday, April 22nd (Math). Ms. Mack and Ms. Wren are still welcoming parent helpers to come to the classroom for short periods of time over the next few weeks to help students with extra STAAR test preparation.
We've had a great volunteer response from both classes and wanted to remind folks that there are still open sessions that need someone to fill them this week and next. These sessions are available as follows:
Monday to Friday, 10:00–10:30 AM
Monday to Friday, 2:00–2:30 PM
Volunteers work with small groups of students, either going through practice problems or focusing on multiplication facts, depending on the group for that day. You don't have to be a math expert to help with math and they need help with reading, too!
If you can spare any 30-minute window on any day to help in the coming weeks, that would be wonderful. You can sign-up for a time slot here:

Outfits for the Play Tomorrow - Clarification
Hello Parents,
The kids are performing TWO TIMES tomorrow. The first will be during school (dress rehearsal), and they must be in their outfits. They should change into their uniforms afterward. The second, and main performance is in the evening at 6:30pm for "Evening with the Arts" - they must be at school at 6pm.
For this reason, please send them to school in their 70s attire in the morning with a change of clothes. Outfits may include bell bottoms, tie dye shirts, headbands, beads, sunglasses, and funky prints

Ms. Wren Classroom Parent Helpers

Valentine's Day Treats
Good evening,
Since we do not have school on Friday, the kids are permitted to hand out Valentines treats on Thursday. Thursday is "I love Science Day" wherein the kids will partake in science activities all day, so the Valentines handouts will be quick. Participation is optional. We have 28 students. If you decide to partake in Valentines treat, please ensure everyone gets one.

Holiday Party
Hello Parents,
This year, we are asking parents if they have any unwanted, gently used Holiday decor to donate, to please drop them off at the front office with Ms. Wren’s name so the kids can decorate the room. This includes lights, wrapping paper (to wrap the door), and streamers. As a special treat to the kids, we are also asking if anyone has a small, fake tree they can donate to the classroom. The kids will be able to make an ornament and decorate the tree with it.
Finally, Ms. Wren has a list of favorite things. Please see attached and feel free to bring a personal gift for our teacher, if you are able to.

Poe Movie Night
Hello parents!
Just a reminder that this Friday, November 15, is movie night at Poe! We will be screening Elf on the basketball court. The event starts at 5:30 with the movie screening around 6pm. It is free to attend. Bring your own snacks or purchase popcorn and pizza on-site. Make sure you bring a blanket to sit on!

Fall Activity & Snack Update
Good afternoon,
Thank you all for your generosity in purchasing almost all of Ms. Wren's Amazon List for the Fall Activity and Snack. I also truly appreciate the volunteers that will be coming to set up, host, and bring cupcakes. I hope everyone knows this party would not be possible without all of us working together.
