Drop Everything and Read Day- Wednesday 7th May!

Good evening Parents,

This is a reminder that this Wednesday, May 7th is "Drop Everything and Read Day" of the Read-A-Thon! Here are some ways you can support your child read more and join in the fun.

1. Send your child to school dressed as their favorite book character.

2. Make sure to send plenty of books for your child to read on the day.

3.  Keep logging on the Read-A-Thon minutes for your child! 

Let’s make this a wonderful experience for our students during the final week of the Read-A-Thon.

Another reminder that this week is Teacher Appreciation week. Please see attached flyer for the little acts of appreciation your student can participate in every day to make Ms Reardon feel extra special!

Hello Everyone!

Teacher Appreciation Week is next week May 5-9.  The PTO will be providing different meals or snacks in the teacher lounge each day. Please see the attached flyer and please encourage your student to participate on any day next week as we show our appreciation to our incredible Ms Reardon and all our wonderful teachers and support staff at Poe!!!

This Spring is very busy and we hope to keep you informed. It's also a time to look ahead to next year and start planning for who may be involved in our many school events. Please take time to fill out this form . On the form, you can nominate yourself or others who might be interested in each school event.

Please help supply Ms Reardon’s class with 2 packs of hand wipes or baby wipes for kids to clean their hands after chalking. Extra fabric markers or sharpies are always appreciated!

Pto is supplying chalk and fabric markers for each homeroom! Shirts have been delivered!

Please come out and join in on the fun during 2nd grade’s chalking time! It is a tradition not to be missed!!

Hi Parents!

Poe Carnival is almost here! If you ordered a shirt before October 21, your child should have received it by now. Remaining shirts will be sent home today. If you didn’t order a shirt and still want one, there are limited in-person sales on:

- Wednesday & Thursday at 7:10am and 3:00pm
- Friday at 7:10am (until supplies last)
Youth shirts are $20, Adult shirts are $22 (cash, cards, and Apple Pay accepted).

**Ticket Pickup:**
Pre-ordered wristbands and tickets can be picked up on Friday, October 25th at drop-off or pick-up. They’ll also be available on Saturday, October 26th at the Carnival. Tickets will be on sale throughout the day.

**Drink Contest Update:** Thank you again for all your support! We still need soda if you are able to drop some off in front of the office today or tomorrow!

Lastly, the Carnival cannot happen without volunteers! Please sign up for Ms Reardon’s booth and come out and enjoy the fun!

Please consider signing up for a shift to run Ms Reardon's Class Booth, The Hungry Hippos Inflatable. You will need to take tickets and control the line.

It is an easy job and is right in the middle of all the action. Each shift is only 90 minutes!!

Hi all.

I wanted to remind everyone that the annual Carnival Drink Contest starts this Wednesday, October 9th, and runs through October 23rd! You can drop off drink donations in the front hall during student drop-off, pickup, or school hours. Be sure to label your donation boxes with Ms. Reardon’s name!!! The class with the most donations wins a pizza party!  For anyone interested, I checked a few stores and Kroger is starting a sale on Wednesday for a 40 pack of water for $3.99!!

Also, don’t forget that tomorrow, October 8th, is Picture Day!
