STAAR Ball - This Friday!
After working so hard on their STAAR tests, it's now time for our 3rd - 5th graders to relax and have fun at the STAAR Ball this Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. If you haven't bought your child a ticket yet, they will be for sale at the door. We also need some volunteers to help work the event (snack table, entrance, chaperoning the dance floor, etc.) If you are free and want a front-row seat to watch the dance, please sign up here to help. Thanks!

Teacher Appreciate Week - Next Week!
Teacher Appreciation Week - May 5th - 9th
Good Morning Mrs. Mack's Class Families,
Next week (May 5th - 9th) is Teacher Appreciation Week! The Poe PTO will be providing teachers with various meals and snacks all week, and PTO has also provided the attached .pdf of ideas for other ways students can show appreciation for their teachers each day. Each teacher also receives a gift from the PTO, so we will NOT be doing an individual classroom collection for Mrs. Mack next week.
We will, however, have a monetary collection for an end-of-year gift for Mrs. Mack and Mrs. Wren later this month. Please reach out if you have any other ideas about ways to celebrate them!
Thanks,
Molly

Classroom Helpers Still Needed!
Good Evening Ms. Mack's Class Families!
As a reminder, 3rd grade will be taking their STAAR Tests on Tuesday, April 15th (ELAR) and Tuesday, April 22nd (Math). Ms. Mack and Ms. Wren are still welcoming parent helpers to come to the classroom for short periods of time over the next few weeks to help students with extra STAAR test preparation.
We've had a great volunteer response from both classes and wanted to remind folks that there are still open sessions that need someone to fill them this week and next. These sessions are available as follows:
Monday to Friday, 10:00–10:30 AM
Monday to Friday, 2:00–2:30 PM
Volunteers work with small groups of students, either going through practice problems or focusing on multiplication facts, depending on the group for that day. You don't have to be a math expert to help with math and they need help with reading, too!
If you can spare any 30-minute window on any day to help in the coming weeks, that would be wonderful. You can sign-up for a time slot here:

The STAAR tests are SO important, so any help you can provide the students and their teachers would be great.
Thank you so much!
